1 Corinthians 1:18
I came across a post a few weeks ago where the poster
asked (who in particular, really?) to justify why a woman should submit to HER
OWN HUSBAND and assume she (the poster) was an atheist. I can't tell what the
responses she got were, as I didn't have a lot of time to check. I know,
however, that she was looking for an earthly explanation for a divine
instruction.
There is no rule book that tells me (outside of the
Bible) that when there is a divergence of opinions, I should defer to my
supervisor/boss' opinion, for as long as I don't cross ethical boundaries. I
have learnt BY EXPERIENCE that this singular decision has helped my career,
perhaps more than any other decision. If you plan to have a godly marriage,
Madam, you are expected to submit to your husband. Otherwise, you're allowing
little foxes in. If the vine is spoilt, I pray you're bold enough to remind
yourself that YOU contributed to the rot...
Anyway, the point of this post is that God's instruction
don't ALWAYS have to make sense to the mind. Sometimes, you have to just trust
Him even when what's He is asking you to do makes no sense.
"I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not
seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread."
Psalm 37:25
Eventually, it all comes together and when you look back,
THEN it makes sense. The message of the Cross cannot be comprehended with the
human mind...
Have a blessed and productive day.
PS: Nothing in this post justifies eating snakes or
drinking petrol because "God said so". There is nothing in the
scriptures to justify many of the weird things that spiritists claim that
"God" asked them to tell their congregation to do. #BeGuided.
